Cow in the snow fog.
On Sunday, four inches of snow fell. When I went out to play with the dog, I heard plaintive moos coming from the pasture. I was surprised that the farmer had left the cows in the pasture during the cold snap. Usually they'd be in a barn, eating hay, during this sort of weather.
A day later, the snow began to melt, then refroze, and we ended up with snow fog. That's when I got this photo of the poor cow, out there looking for a sweet blade of grass under the snow.
Another two inches or so of snow fell last night. The cows are still out there, freezing. But yesterday I fed them some apples. They seemed to appreciate the handout.
