Two boats, one lock
I've seen boats locked inside the Denham lock on the Union Canal, but never two at a time. These two canal boats cozied up inside the lock as they waited for the water level to drop. A little black dog was running around on the other side from us, looking frantically down at the boats.
As the boat on the left went through the lock, the little dog went down to the water level, and was helped aboard by the boatman.
On toward London
Although you can't see it here, the boat on the left had solar panels on top, along with some potted plants.
One day I'd like to rent a canal boat for the weekend and travel southern England's canals. Seems a better way to travel in the summer than the crowded motorways.
