The stairs (Lardarina) leading from Corniglia, at close to the halfway point.
I'd like to say I'm tanned and rested after my travels to Italy but that would be a lie. After tramping up the mountainsides of the Cinque Terre and Lerici and over the flatness of Frankfort, I'm hardly rested, in fact, my calves scream when I go up my stairs. (The Chilterns, it turns out, are no preparation for the Apennines.)
And anyone who's seen me will know that no matter how hard I wish it I'll never be tanned.
I downloaded 480 photos, mainly of Lerici and the Cinque Terre. Tomorrow, after I've caught up on chores around here, I'll organize them and post a few here. Plus I'm cooking cannellini beans today, trying to recreate the food of Italy even if the weather isn't as sweet.
Did y'all have a good Mardi Gras while I was gone?
