Twelfth Grade English Teacher Needed

I'm putting the finishing touches on my paper today, but I wanted to toss this sentence out there:

Henry, prince though he had become and growing up though he rapidly was, continued to live with his two sisters.

Would any of my learned editor-readers like to take a crack at that? Teachers are welcome to chime in, too. Miss Whit, you still around? We could use your services.
