Big Brother?

I can only hope this is some sort of massive joke:

A massive government database holding details of every phone call, e-mail and time spent on the internet by the public is being planned as part of the fight against crime and terrorism. Internet service providers (ISPs) and telecoms companies would hand over the records to the Home Office under plans put forward by officials.

Although...I've been wondering why my internet is so slow today...

PS I've tried saving this three times under the category "Parliament Rant" and it won't stick—it reverts to "No category selected" after I've selected it from the menu. Hmmm...perhaps Brother doesn't like my rants.
