Saw this Obama sign in a window in Oxford, on Merton Street behind University College (which is not redundant). I guess that's where Chris lives. (You need to paint your door, Chris.)
It's nice to drive down a street in Oxford and see a sign of trans-Atlantic comradeship. We had our last day of class today, discussing post-war London. I didn't realize that the bombed out areas of the City were left bare until the early sixties. Meanwhile, American money rebuilt the bombed German cities straightaway.
I was sort of embarrassed by this.
