The sun came out today, after a rainy start this morning. I really needed a walk to clear my mood, which has been rotten for the last week—so rotten I was in danger of getting an ASBO*.
First we walked through the neighborhood, and saw that Fall has taken notice of the calendar:
Then we walked through town (the dog insists on heading in that direction now, ever since I took her to the Fun Fair and to the Harry Party midnight release party) and to the woods, where three squirrels taunted us and were subsequently chased up a tree. (The animal kingdom sorts these things out without the need for ASBOs.)
Then we crossed the street to the pond:
It's really a pond now, not just a bit of muck like it was last summer. Good to see global warming has not won yet.
Then we ate some blackberries:
and finally came home through the woods, a spring in our step and our tails held high:
I feel much better now.
