A Scottish Galloway cow cools off in the Thames.
On our last hike we parked in Bourne End and hiked along the Thames, where we found cows wading knee-deep in the water. It was a hot day (if you consider 80s hot); the rest of the herd were huddled in the shade of a few trees.
When we'd circled around, the same herd of cows were in a narrow passageway under the bridge we needed to cross under, and after my last experience with angry cows I didn't have the nerve to shoo them away. Fortunately another member of our group was less wary and she mooved them on.
I really love that you can walk along the Thames and see cows in the water. Is there a better place on earth?
