I was talking to a sweet-looking little old lady at the common this morning, and naturally we were discussing whether or not it would rain, which led to comments about the water shortage we've been warned about, which led to her telling me our water shortage problems were due to the fact that there were just too many people here.
There are, she said, too many foreigners living here.
A few minutes later she asked, "Are you from America?" and I said yes, but there was no mention of whether I was one of the foreigners she was talking about.
Nevertheless, I shall try not to use too much water.
