There are a couple of international conferences going on this week, both designed to solve the world's problems. One is in Davos, and people like Bill Gates, Richard Gere, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are there. And my friend Stephanie.
The other is at The Hague, and it's the Model United Nations conference. Daughter number two is there. She just called to tell us she was interviewed in the MUN newspaper. (No link—that was my first question.) Her country is Bolivia, which just inaugurated a new president.
Hopefully the movers and shakers of Davos and The Hague will get around to solving a few problems in between interviews and lattes. I just happen to have a list:
• conflict between Israel/Palestine
• nuclear proliferation
• South Korea the wanker country of the universe
• Iraq, formerly of the Axis of Evil
• poverty in Africa
• poverty in Asia
• poverty pretty much everywhere
• HIV
• extraordinary rendition
• Craig Murray's missing luggage
• really sucky movies
That's all I can think of, and that last is sort of optional. But since Brad and Angelina and Richard are all there....
