The Belted Galloway gives whole new meaning to the phrase "cookies and milk."
(Because if broken hardware stops us from Cow Blogging, the computers have won.)
As I was speeding down the highway yesterday, I noticed a field of Belted Galloways. Conscious of my inaccessible store of cow photos, I immediately turned off the road, parked, and pulled out my Nikon, fully prepared to stalk these beauties around the pasture if necessary to get a good shot. There are no lengths to which I will not go to bring you Friday Cow Blogging.
Okay, maybe one. I am no fool.
The Oreo of the cow world is actually an ancient breed, descended from the rugged Galloway cattle of Scotland. Most are black with a white belt, but they also come in other colors. Their coat is thick, their forehead wide and intelligent.
Oddly, Oreos are not sold here, so I'm not sure the British dairy board are fully cognizant of the marketing potential of these cows. But then, I don't think they're raised for their milk. Shame, that.
