I'm off to the big city today, to revel in debauchery and stuff like that. After all, with no papal overlord in Rome, can't we all just sin, sin, sin?! Beelzebub, here I come!
But then, papal overlords never stopped me anyway, so I guess I'll just carry on as usual.
Here's some debauchery from the boiling seas of the Internet to get you through your work day:
Riverbend has a new post up, live from Baghdad Burning, where she explores the American media through the eyes of an Iraqi.
With death being the topic du jour, The Liquid List has a couple of living wills you may want to copy.
Ginger at The Hackenblog posted the latest edition of The Lincoln Heights Literary Journal. There's a nice interview in there with San Francisco Chronicle columnist Jon Carroll, and a literary travelogue, The Jane Austen Tour. (Speaking of Jane (not to mention debauchery!), I watched Mansfield Park this weekend. Fine movie!)
Pam Spaulding has been guest blogging at Facing South, a little southern blog that lifts the darkness from the piney woods.
And finally, some Poetry Month fun: With the news that the Wedding of the Century may be upstaged by the Funeral of the Century, here's a consolation poem for Mr. and Mrs.-to-be Windsor, from Indian poet and fifteenth century comedian Kabir:
When the bride is one
with her lover,
who cares about
the wedding party?
