It's Mother's Day here in the UK, so I thought I'd take this time to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day. Not that she'll see this...I don't think they have broadband in the nursing home. She doesn't read much, anyway, in fact, she spends most of her time at the airport terminal, located somewhere near the nurses' station, waiting for the flight that's taking her to Memphis. She's planning to marry Billy Ray Cyrus, which was news to me, since I didn't even know they were dating.
(Oh goody. Now I'll get googlers searching for "Billy Ray Cyrus nude". That should be fun.)
Anyway, since my mom can't read this, I'll go ahead and wish a Happy Mum's Day to all the other mums out there. You know who you are. Have some chocolate, a glass of wine, or choose a similarly appropriate method of self-congratulations. You deserve it, even if you aren't living in the UK and called "mum".
And then check out MomBrain, who's finally disposed of her Italian house guest and is wondering how to cope for the next four years.
Might I suggest...a trip to Memphis?
