My daughters took most of these photos, since I was mostly in bed, and my camera had little battery juice. But I thought you'd enjoy them.
I'm saving the ones of cows, for tomorrow's Friday Cow Blogging.
The Lauterbrunnen Valley, south of Interlaken in the Swiss Alps.
There were several avalanche shelters along the road.
One of 72 waterfalls in the valley.
From the cable car, which leaves from Stechelberg, the hamlet where we stayed. Stechelberg is at the very end of the road that leaves from Interlaken. After the driveway for our chalet, you couldn't drive any further. Unless you were driving cows.
The cable car takes you up the Shilthorn, where Piz Gloria, built for the James Bond film In Her Majesty's Service, is located.
The top of the Alps.
This is the castle in Liechtenstein where Hans Adam lives, the last surving heir to the Holy Roman Empire. It's closed to the public, but you can see it from the bottom of the mountainside. Or from the car park.
The lake where the Von Trapp children were boating when their father arrived to introduce them to the Baroness. The house is not the house where the outdoor scenes were filmed, however, which meant the scenes were spliced together.
The church where the Captain and Maria were married (the inside, anyway).
