Friday Cow Blogging

Dinnertime

We passed these cows the other day just as they were eating their dinner. They live in Mill End, not far from Marlow, and just a few hundred yards from the Thames.

Mill End is a hamlet, which means it doesn't have a pub or a church. But it does have cows. We passed around three different herds on our walk on Sunday.

As I was taking photos of these cows, the owners left the farm in their car, wondering, I'm sure, what I was doing snapping photos of their herd. Little did they know that I was the famous Friday Cow Blogger.

I know Marlow, but not those particular cows. I used to live in Caversham. on the north bank of the Thames across from Reading. Friends lived in Henley. We'd drive out through Marlow, make a left turn and end up at a nice little pub. Can't remember where, but it was at the base of a hill festooned with a windmill on top. Maybe it's still there.

Someone told me about a place near Mill End where they could see the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang windmill from there. I thought it was further north, but maybe the Thames curves up toward Oxford? I'll have to look on a map. Or maybe it's another windmill.

My days have been so confused what with the holidays. I forgot yesterday was Friday! And the cows!! Still here! You made a Snacktator smile.

I got so excited, apparently I commented twice! Oops...

TypePad is having issues with comments lately. I see them, and then I don't, and then they're there again.
