(Not) Friday Cow Blogging

You know how when you go to bed and you can't sleep because of a nagging feeling you forgot something important? Last night was one of those nights. I tossed and turned...did I forget to floss? No. The doors were locked, too, and the lights out except for the light I keep on in my office to convince burglars I'm still up and armed. (With the phone number for the Thames Valley Police, of course, who aren't armed either.)

But then it hit me: Friday was almost over, and I hadn't posted Friday Cow Blogging! What was I thinking, letting my readers down like that! But I looked at the clock, and it was a few minutes to midnight. I know, it was still Friday in much of the English-speaking world, but at that point I could barely think coherent English myself. I went to sleep, promising to fulfill my duties in the morning.

So here it is. Friday-Plus-One Cow Blogging.

Britishwhitecow
Look at the sheen on that hide!

Although this photo is a bit blurry, take it from me—this cow is strikingly gorgeous. She's a British White, an ancient breed of cattle dating back 800 years. The black points on their white hides reduce the risk of sunburn, an enviable feature. They can live for 15 to 25 years, but of course they don't—although they were bred as diary cows, they're now bred mainly for meat.

To make up for my tardiness, here's another, this one wearing a lovely collar to emphasize the slimness of her neck:

Cow
And what a nice looking tail!

More cow porn next week, hopefully at its regularly scheduled time.
