Friday Horse Blogging
Horses are the friendliest creatures. When we walked past their pasture, these horses (6 in all) came racing over to us. We had nothing for them, but they only wanted to see what we were about.
They live in Littleworth Common, near the Blackwood Arms public house. They probably get lots of visitors, as their pasture is right on a public footpath.
My gardener, who keeps horses in the area, told me a funny story. When someone dropped a hammer in the barn, a pony named Patch picked it up and brought it over to her. A horse that plays fetch!
Sorry for the bad lighting. I still haven't figured out how to adjust my camera to light dark faces properly.
Kathy,
You either need to use the flash manually, or find a way to do spot/partial metering:

I kinda like it though!

Avelino, thanks for the tips. That site has a lot of good info on it.
Kathy a., thanks--my method so far has been the Shotgun Approach--take 50 photos and hope I get one good one. I liked the way his mane falls forward, like he's in motion.
