Friday Llama Blogging

Llama

Something not every web blog offers: Llama blogging.

On Wednesday we came across a couple of friendly llamas living across the Thames, near Hurley. They were running around excitedly, not, it turns out, because six llama enthusiasts were walking past, but because a tractor with hay was coming down the lane.

Make that six llama enthusiasts and one dog, who quickly determined llamas were not good for chasing and went back to wading in the Thames.

Mr. Llama watches from the caravan park as six hikers parade past.

For more animal blogging, but probably not llamas, go check out the Friday Ark.

Actaully, Bailey is very wise to keep well away from Llamas, who by there nature are highly suspicous of canines and are often employed as guardians of sheep and other herd animals who fall victim to wolves, coyotes and marauding packs of less civilized dogs. They can really kick and can inflict serious damage to a too friendly dog very quickly.

Rodney, I had no idea! There's another pack of llamas near here I've been thinking of photographing, but I will not take the dog, since she is way too friendly.

too bad your blog doesn't have 'smell-surround.' The llamas in our neck of the woods are pretty darned cute but oh, so odiferous.

Tara, I didn't notice any odor, but my dog went and rolled in something nearby. That's the only problem with the English countryside--sometimes it stinks!
