Friday Exotic Cow Blogging

Ankole

Horns? What horns?

This Ankole cow at Longleat was smiling as we passed in our car. They're very striking looking, but I was a little nervous of those horns.

A few days later, we were watching The Last King of Scotland. I recognized the same breed of cow, in one of the early scenes. If you've seen the movie, you'll remember the noisy cow. One of many disturbing scenes in that film.

Pretty teeth she has, though. Wonder if she uses my dentist?

Those are amazing and gorgeous creatures!

By the way, you should be grateful that you have a common name. Mine is so uncommon that that google game doesn't work for me! =(

Wow! I hope you have a zoom lens! I wouldn't want to be that close to those horns! Pretty though.

Nope, I really was that close, but inside a car. I quickly rolled up the window after I took the shots, though.

hey, what an amazing animal! I've never seen it before...
