Bodiam Castle mystery bird.
This strange black and white bird was huddled near the moat at Bodiam Castle in East Sussex. I have no idea what kind of waterfowl it is. There weren't any other such birds there.
In other strange animal news, someone from a Japanese tv program asked me for permission to include my photos of a zeedonk, taken last year, on their program about unusual animals.
Maybe this bird is related to the zeedonk—a zeeduck.
You could see that one coming a mile away, couldn't you?

It almost looks like someone spilled white paint on the bird. A zeeduck? Perhaps you've discovered a previously unknown species. :)

so cute! It looks like my favorite bird, the turkey, only in a smaller and cuter and weirder package. Awww.

It's a moscovy duck, a well-known species that has been in the UK both in the wild and in captivity for the last 450 years. Nothing new there! There's an article on Wiki.

Someone else mentioned that. The only problem is it doesn't have a bill, it has a beak.
