Friday Goat Blogging

Dscn0449

Goat love.

This goat lives near my brother's house, in north Louisiana. She was the fiercest of the three, although the smallest—she kept butting the others out of the way to get to the feed we'd thrown for them. She was a pretty thing, though, with that white flowing beard, those tiny cloven hooves.

In other goat-related news, I was surprised yesterday to see that one of the most emailed stories on the BBC website is over a year old, and even more surprised to read what it was about.

I just don't think this goat would have stood still for that. Eww.

This is a beautiful goat. Well, I'm partial to most goats! And they're pretty high-spirited aren't they? I got head-butted by one at Farm Sanctuary last year. I can't wait to go back this year!

yea we got a billy finally which the guys all said was all she needed... she won't even let him near her yet. he is pretty too black and white.

Hi Mom
If you weren't so vegan i would tell you to go get a pint of Ben & Jerry's phish food- normally it comes with little chocolate fishes mixed in the ice cream but for the flavor's tenth aniversary they made a 'surf and turf' mix with little chocolate cows and fishes. cute huh?

Hannah, that made me laugh--"If you weren't so vegan"!

my toddler and i just stopped by on a search for cows. great pictures! he enjoyed with very enthusiastic exclamations of GNGGG GNNNGG GNNNGG GNNNGGG! (his word for Cow, for reasons unknown. sounds a bit like moo, i suppose.)

anyway, thanks!
